On December 14, 2005 at 10:00pm, Jacob returned home.
A Celebration of Life was held for Jacob on December 23, 2005, at St. Ann's Church in Kaneohe.
At the end of December, Jacob's ashes were scattered in Kailua Bay and on Maui.

Today as I celebrate all that you are, I also give thanks for the lessons you teach us. One of the most precious lessons you have taught me is that love is the greatest miracle. Everyone can make a miracle, and expect them too, if they change their minds and are willing to give up the ego's perspective. Memories of all our Maui trips are flooding me today. Starting when you were 10 years old...snorkeling, learning to scuba dive, taking the long drive around the north end, our favorite eateries - Cheeseburger in Paradise of course, and the pizza place, ice cream at Lapperts...they go on and on and I don't want to ever forget them. I love you.
