On December 14, 2005 at 10:00pm, Jacob returned home.
A Celebration of Life was held for Jacob on December 23, 2005, at St. Ann's Church in Kaneohe.
At the end of December, Jacob's ashes were scattered in Kailua Bay and on Maui.

Today I did my best to celebrate you! A good friend of mine and I celebrated together. Her Dad passed away just a few years ago and today is his birthday. You probably already met him and have swapped stories already. We went to see a movie and have pizza, your favorites. Then we had a Celebration of Life cake which she had made which had your name with a honu and her Dad's name with the Mickey Mouse symbol since his nickname was Mickey. We swapped stories about what great guys you are and laughed about the funny things we remembered. You will always be with me bro. LiveAloha Always.
